This modern rustic barn wedding is sure to give you lots of inspiration for your big day, with alternative bridal styling it ticks all the boxes when it comes to having an uber cool modern wedding vibe. We were thrilled to supply both bespoke dresses for the shoot - both made from separates, they're a great alternative and can mixed and matched with other pieces from the collection to create your dream dress.

The first dress we created is an ivory two piece, that features in our new capsule collection launching soon! It is a skirt and top with a tulle overlay embellished with flowers. The idea is you can choose the look you want from the separates - the best way to create a look that is you, and unique too.

The second look was created especially for the shoot - a bespoke design to a brief which of course is what we do here. (Want a bespoke dress? Have a read of our blog: A step by step guide to designing a bespoke wedding dress)

We wanted to create something that worked well with colour theme as well as the bride's hair! It is a black velvet bodice that flatters any shape, teamed with a satin full length skirt, proving that you do not have to wear white to get married! Plus this could be worn at a later date to another special occasion!

The aim of the shoot was to create a modern feel in a rustic barn rather than what is expected in this space. They chose burgundy and blush; the burgundy is so rich and opulent which not only works well with the woody tones of the barn, but works for all seasons. The metal geometric shapes continue to add the contemporary feel, giving it a clean look.

We have to talk about the amazing wedding cake surrounded by the beautifully coloured balloons, giving the cake display a real WOW factor. The rustic tables look great against the modern touches - it is not just about hessian jars and bunting if you want to choose this type of venue!

We are so excited to share our latest styled shoot to launch the premiere wedding dress collection by Marie Chandler Bridal called Nashville. It is a collection that features 6 styles of alternative wedding dress for the creative bride who knows her own style, loves looking a little different from the norm and is having a fun day whether it be boho, rustic or even vintage.

There are so many influences for the collection - from Dolly Parton and her love of tassels to the Victoriana look (think high necklines) but the over-riding influence is the free spirited country vibe found in Nashville especially in the 1960s and 1970s.

But it is not style over substance here: it was important for Marie to design a collection that is wearable and also comfortable to wear all day with subtle corseting, soft fabrics and elegant shapes.

Let us take you through the key looks, their inspiration and how to wear them. Each dress is styled with key accessories that work with the country look within the shoot; from dried flowers to a cowboy hat - both are trends to look out for in 2019!

Nashville Wedding Dress: Dotty

Dotty is made from white tulle covered with black flocked polka dots - the extra dotty detail adds something new plus perfect if you don't want a plain wedding dress. Trimmed with black velvet cord, tied at the neck with a bow and hand covered black buttons adorn the centre front dress and statement cuffs. Dotty can be made full or 3/4 length.

Nashville Wedding Dress: Dolly

Continuing the polka dot theme, our Dolly dress has white dots on the bodice and can be created as a dress or as separates giving you the chance to personalise your look. The skirt is made from satin, layered with 14 metres of fringe for some serious swish! The Dolly bodice is made with a softly boned corset layered with flocked tulle and has stand out cuffs with lots of hand covered buttons.

Dolly can be worn with a strapless bra or made with a full corset if preferred and is available in any shape and size as well as a variety of colours.

Nashville Wedding Dress: Kitty

Kitty is a fun and quirky skirt and top combo. The top is lightly corseted, with a hidden side zip and a top frill that sits comfortably off the shoulder. The skirt sits at calf length with two full frills giving it a great ‘swish!’    This is completely customisable in a fabric and colour of your choice: the one here is made from a super soft yet structural polyester duchess satin.

Nashville Wedding Dress: Loretta

Loretta is a whimsical floor length wedding dress. Made from a luxurious silk base, layered with spot tulle and a beautiful soft lace, it has full sleeves with a statement cuff. The dress is finished with hand covered buttons. The bodice is lightly corseted and can be worn with a bra, or a fully structured base layer can be created.   Loretta is finished with an optional soft under bust corset and looks beautiful with or without! The best bit is that it is available in white, ivory and navy blue.

Nashville Wedding Dress: Patsy

Patsy is a 1960's inspired wedding dress, with a full length wiggle skirt and back split. The dress has a deep V back fastened by small hand covered buttons. Patsy comes with a large bow belt which can be made in any colour of your choosing, the bow can be worn at the front or the back!   The dress comes in all shapes and sizes and can be made in a variety of colours and also in a shorter length.

Nashville Wedding Dress: Emmy-Lou

Emmy-Lou is a 70's inspired A-Line dress with a false button front. It has a flattering sweetheart neckline and off the shoulder tasseled sleeves which run right to the centre back!   Perfect for the super stylish bride looking for something totally different! And to add flexibility, it comes in a variety of colours so you can really make it your own!
